William Weldon (1966)
William C. Weldon is the former Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Johnson & Johnson. During a career spanning more than four decades with the global healthcare company, he held leadership positions throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia before ultimately being named Chairman and CEO.
Weldon joined Johnson & Johnson in 1971 and advanced through a series of increasingly senior leadership roles, including Worldwide Chairman of the Pharmaceuticals Group and Vice Chairman of the Board. Under his leadership, Johnson & Johnson strengthened its position as one of the world’s leading healthcare companies, with operations spanning pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumer health products.
Beyond Johnson & Johnson, Weldon has served on the boards of several major corporations, including CVS Health, Exxon Mobil, JPMorgan Chase & Co., and Chubb Corporation. He currently serves on the boards of HeartFlow and Fairfax Financial Holdings and remains active in educational and nonprofit organizations.
A graduate of Quinnipiac University, Weldon was born in Brooklyn, New York. He and his wife have two children and three grandsons.
